A historic gem on the northern coast of the Gulf of Corinth, now fully released from the main road that took the huge lorries through arches in the old walls and into the centre of the town with the building of a by-pass, but also conversely becoming much more accessible with the opening in 2004 of the Rio-Antirio bridge, a simply stunning engineering feat crossing the Gulf of Corinth and linking Patras and the Peloponnese with Central and North Western Greece.
